Galtaji JaipurGaltaji is a holy pilgrimage of India, located 10 kms away from Jaipur in Rajasthan. The vast complex of Galta Ji has several temples in it. The Temple of Galtaji is famous for its natural water springs. Set amidst the beautiful landscape, Galtaji Temple offers a picturesque view of the city. Galtaji is considered holy place, as Saint Galav spent his life meditating here. However, the temple was built mach later by Diwan Rao Kriparam, a courtier of Sawai Jai Singh II, in the 18th Century. History of Galtaji

Saint Galav is believed to have spent his life at the location of Galtaji practicing meditation. He also performed a penance here for a long period of time. However, the temple was built much later by Diwan Rao Kriparam, a courtier of Sawai Jai Singh II, in the 18th Century. The structure of the Temple appears to be more like a mansion or Haveli from the outside.

The temple, dedicated to the Sun God, is the most famous temple built on the top of a hill. The temple is decked with rounded roofs, exquisitely carved pillars and painted walls. Out of all other temples, Hanuman temple stands out, being surrounded by hundreds of monkeys. Besides all other attractions, Natural water springs draw special attention of the visitors.

Galtaji kundThe water of these springs is accumulated in the tanks or ' kunds'. In all, there are seven tanks, holiest being the Galta Kund, which never goes dry. It is considered auspicious to take bath in the holy waters of Galtaji. Thousands of people come every year to take a dip in the tanks to rinse out their sins. Makar Sankranti is regarded as a special day to take bath in the holy waters of Galtaji.

Galtaji TempleGaltaji is an ancient and prehistoric Hindu pilgrimage site located 10 km from Jaipur. It is located in Khaniya -Balaji town in Jaipur. Temples, pavilions, natural springs and holy kunds are the attractions of this site. Natural water springs of Galtaji temple are very popular. Located amidst the beautiful landscape, Galtaji Temple provides an excellent view of the Jaipur city. The water from these natural springs is accumulated in the tanks or kunds . Out of the seven tanks here, Galta Kund is considered as the holiest and this tank never goes dry. Thousands of people visit this site to take a dip in the holy waters of Galtaji which is considered auspicious especially on Makar Sankranti in the month of January. The serenity of this temple attracts devotees and tourists to visit it repeatedly.

The main Temple of Galtaji is built on the top of a hill in pink stone; the temple comprises of a huge complex and houses a populous tribe of monkeys in there. These rhesus macaques were featured in National Geographic channel s Rebel Monkeys series. The pavilions of the temple feature rounded roofs, exquisitely carved pillars, and painted walls.

Laxmi Niwas Mittal Information Technology (LNMIT)There are many temples in this location. Ghat ke Balaji, Surya Temple dedicated to the Sun God built in the 18th century, temples of Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva-family and Lord Krishna are the most visited temples at Galtaji. Shree Ram-Laxamanji Ashram and the famous Engineering College of Laxmi Niwas Mittal Information Technology (LNMIT) are also situated close to Galtaji.
